Why build an Instagram strategy for your business?

Posting beautiful photos or posts full of education to your feed isn’t too hard. However, a proper strategy for your Instagram goes WAY beyond this.⁠

While having a beautiful feed or sharing value is essential, you also need to be drawing in a new audience and sending those followers to your website with strategic content.⁠

While most are quick to assume that having a strong social media presence can help you get leads directly from the platforms it also helps in an indirect way as well (especially if you are a brick & mortar business).

  1. If a person likes you or your brand, they’re far more likely to buy from you. It’s a powerful way to differentiate yourself.⁠

What most get wrong:

Most people on social media sound exactly the same with little to no personality. They are scared to stand out or use their own unique voice.

What to do instead:

Share the full you! What are your quirks? Share the behind the scenes of your life, personal moments, and credentials that make you stand out.

  1. What makes a person like your brand? Trust! The more they trust you, the more they’ll like you.

What most get wrong:

Most are afraid to share too much or to give too much information away. They think that if they share too much, someone won’t see any value in working with them. The opposite is actually true!

What to do instead:

A secret to building trust is two-fold. Provide lots of value and educational content … consistently. Sharing a lot of value gives people a taste of what they can expect when they work with you. Posting consistently sends a subconscious message to them that you are someone that can be trusted (as opposed to posting inconsistently).

  1. Strengthen these relationships through the RIGHT kind of strategic content. I see many accounts just sharing one type of post. For a cohesive strategy, you must be sharing several different types of posts.

What most get wrong:

I see SO MANY get this part wrong. Simply posting something and then never getting on social media again can actually detract from your brand image. Another thing I see people do is that they are waiting for someone else to initiate the conversation.

What to do instead:

Be the first to start a conversation and engage! Whether that’s commenting on other people’s posts, sending a welcome message to your new followers, or sending a random DM to your most loyal followers, there are countless ways to initiate the conversation to develop relationships.
